Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM

Happy Monday evening, everyone!

Tonight we’ll see partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. You will be able to see the brightest supermoon of the year tonight from time to time with some breaks in the clouds. Winds tonight will be out of the west generally about 10 to 15 miles per hour. Overnight lows will bottom out in the teens and 20s for a cold start tomorrow morning. We will be dry overnight before chances for showers picks up tomorrow afternoon.

Tuesday begins on a dry, frosty note in the morning. Bundle up as you’re headed out and allow the car some extra time to warm up as we’ll be in the 20s. Daytime highs will only peak in the mid to upper 30s. Winds will gust around 15 miles per hour out of the west in the afternoon.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY goes into effect for the west slopes of the Cascades and areas to our east tomorrow afternoon. Snow levels will be around 1,400′ Tuesday. We’ll see more snow accumulating in these areas through Wednesday evening, although parts of Central Oregon will see snow on the ground Wednesday morning, but not enough to be covered under the advisory. Mt. Bachelor will see about 6-16″ of snow by the end of the day Wednesday.

Overnight into Wednesday we see some snow in Central Oregon, but most falling in the mountains. Wednesday itself looks to be cloudy with off and on snow showers. Temperatures will be cold in the low to mid 30s. Winds will be gusty at times.

Into Thursday snow levels fall below 1,000′ and we’ll be looking at a cold day. Highs will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s. We’ll stay dry through Saturday at this point.

The weekend ahead looks to see scattered snow showers and chilly daytime highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
