Redmond police removed an allegedly unruly passenger from a plane waiting to leave for Los Angeles Wednesday night and arrested him on disorderly conduct and other charges.

William Goth, 59, of La Pine, was arrested at Roberts Field around 8 p.m. and booked into the Deschutes County Jail in Bend on charges of second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and interfering with a police officer, Lt. Curtis Chambers said.

Goth was booked into the jail late Wednesday night and released to a responsible third party around 6 a.m. Thursday, a jail officer said.

Chambers said the police report of the incident will be sent both to the district attorney’s office for a charging decision and to the U.S. attorney’s office for a review of whether any federal crimes were committed.

The father of a woman who was a passenger on Flight 6073 told NewsChannel 21 she told him the man was yelling at the flight attendant, using foul language, then started yelling at other passengers as they waited for the plane to be de-iced.

She said the flight attendant soon announced they were returning to the terminal. The man said his daughter assumed it was due to the weather, but police boarded the plane and removed the man, who complied and left the plane.

An American Airlines representative confirmed the plane returned to the terminal to remove the disruptive passenger.

The Bend man said his daughter told him the flight attendants then came through the plane, asking people if they had any problems continuing or would rather wait for a later flight. He said the flight was delayed about 90 minutes.
