ODOT Region 4 construction update: Week of April 15

The Oregon Department of Transportation is committed to providing a safe, efficient transportation system. ODOT invests in Oregon’s future through roadway improvement projects. The following projects are located in ODOT’s Region 4 encompassing Central Oregon from The Dalles to Klamath Falls on the east side of the Cascades.

All work is dependent on weather conditions and schedules are subject to change.

Where traffic is routed through or around a work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided alternate routes through the work zone.

Deschutes County

Various County Roads – The contractor will be installing temporary construction signage and delineators on Deschutes Market Road, Alfalfa Market Road, Neff Road, NW Lower Bridge Way, Fryrear Road, and S. Century Drive throughout the week. Single lane closures controlled by flaggers are possible. Traffic should expect delays of up to 20 minutes.

Various County Roads – The contractor will be working on Cooley Road east of the Cooley Road/US97 intersection, on the US97 on ramp on 3rd Street in Bend south of Butler Market Road, at the Southbound Revere On ramp onto US97, at US97 and Powers Road, and on Reed Market Road near the Reed Market Overpass. Conduit installations will be occurring with shoulder closures. Pedestrian traffic should watch for sidewalk closure and detour signs. Traffic should expect lane closure and lane shifts in these areas.

Jefferson County

Warm Springs Highway: US26: MP 99 (Kahneeta Junction) – The contractor will be performing embankment operations at MP 91 utilizing flaggers to close one lane of traffic throughout the day. Traffic should expect delays of up to 20 minutes at this location. Westbound traffic should anticipate the slow lane to be closed 24 hours between MP 99 – MP 102 throughout the week.

Marion County

North Santiam Highway: OR22 (Tumble Creek Bridge) – The contractor will be performing asphalt paving and excavation activities. Single lane closures controlled by flaggers will be in place 24 hours a day. Sunday until Friday afternoon. Traffic should expect delays of at least 20 minutes and longer at certain periods throughout the week. It is encouraged for drivers to take an alternate route if possible. All permitted over-sized loads will need to detour around the project via 1-5 and OR126. Detour signs are in place..

Hood River County

184: Traffic Barrier Upgrade Project (Columbia River Highway)

I 84 will have intermittent single lane closures West Bound between MP 62 and MP 80. Also, the contractor will have long term single lane closures East and West Bound at MP 109.7 to perform bridge upgrades.

Sherman County

!84: Swanson Canyon – Arlington (Columbia River Highway) – 184 will have intermittent single lane closures East and West Bound between MP 125.50 and MP 138.

US97: Spanish Hollow Creek and Trout Creek Bridges (Sherman Highways MP 0.4) – Stellar J Corporation is completing the second stage of bridge construction. One way traffic will be controlled continuously by a temporary signal. Expect minimal delays.

US97: Spanish Hollow Creek and Trout Creek Bridges (Sherman Highways MP 3.1 to MP 4) – Stellar J Corporation is completing seismic retrofit substructure work. The roadway could be reduced to a single lane with flagger controlling traffic. Expect minimal delays.

US97: Spanish Hollow Creek and Trout Creek Bridges (The Dalles California Highway) – Stellar J Corporation is completing the second stage of bridge construction. One way traffic will be controlled continuously by a temporary signal. Occasional flagger controlled one-way traffic may be required.

US97: Shaniko – Trout Creek Culvert Removal (Sherman Highway) – The contractor will be performing single lane closures from MP 57 – 65 between the hours of 7 pm – 7 am to install guardrail throughout the project. Expect minimal delays.
