Madras police sweep leads to six arrests

KTVZ

Several Madras police officers and probation officers conducted a sweep Friday night at two residences tied to illegal drugs and violence that led to the arrest of six men, while a woman who allegedly gave a false name is still being sought, officers said Monday.

Between 7:30 and 11:30 p.m. officers visited a home in the 300 block of Northeast 10th Street and a mobile home in the 100 block of Northwest B Street “where individuals involved in illegal narcotics, as well as violent activity, have recently congregated,” Detective Sgt. Steve Webb said.

Jefferson County Community Corrections also took part to check on individuals who are under the department’s supervision, Webb said.

At the 10th Street address, Tristan Fiscus, 20, was arrested for probation violation, Erin Joyner, 44, was arrested on an outstanding state Parole Board warrant and Davis Stwyer Jr., 29, was arrested on charges of fourth-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon in an outstanding domestic violence case investigated by the sheriff’s office, Webb said.

At the B Street address, brothers John Axsom, 30, and Victor Axsom, 37, were arrested for violating parole, the detective said.

In addition, on Sixth Street near B Street, Jeffrey Fields, 50, was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender.

All six taken into custody were booked into the county jail.

Webb said police also contacted in the same area as Fields his “significant other,” who allegedly gave officers false information. It was later learned she was Elaine Severson, 45, who has an outstanding warrant for probation violation out of Linn County.

Anyone with information as to her whereabouts was asked to call police at 541-475-2424 or Jefferson County dispatchers at 541-475-2201.
