Bend-La Pine kindergarten registration begins Wednesday

KTVZ

Families of incoming kindergarteners are encouraged to register students for school starting Wednesday. Neighborhood schools will host events for families and students. Bend-La Pine Schools is planning for more than 1,200 new kindergarteners to start school in the fall of 2019.

“This is a great opportunity for families of incoming kindergarteners to connect with our schools and gauge enrollment needs for the coming year,” said Gary Timms, Executive Director of Elementary Programs for Bend-La Pine Schools. “We are excited to welcome new families and students to our schools.”

In order to be eligible for kindergarten, students must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2019. To register, parents should bring a child’s birth certificate or other legal proof of age; proof of address; and a record of immunizations.

Events at schools vary and families should contact their neighborhood school for details. Families can find their neighborhood school through our Attendance Area webpage.

After April 24, parents can register students between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. any school day.
