KTVZ

Visit Central Oregon, in collaboration with Travel Oregon, will host 38 visitors from over nine countries on a road trip around the state of Oregon. Central Oregon’s leg of the Oregon Road Rally will take place Monday and Tuesdasy, May 6 and 7, just in time for National Travel and Tourism Week happening May 5-11, celebrated by U.S. Travel.

While traveling through Central Oregon, local businesses are partnering with Visit Central Oregon to showcase how to eat, stay and play while visiting here.

Checkpoints and activities are planned and coordinated to highlight Central Oregon during the off-peak season and share some of the more undiscovered or quirky parts of Oregon’s High Desert, such as Fort Rock State Park, or taking a selfie at the Last Blockbuster on Earth. Museums, accommodations, breweries and downtown hotspots throughout the region are also included on their itinerary.

“Speed Dating,” or quick, rotating meetings with all of Oregon’s tourism regions are also taking place Tuesday evening at Wall Street Suites in Bend. Travel industry agents and product managers will have the opportunity to be further introduced to each destination, take photos, enjoy some flavors of each region, and promote the #OregonRoadRally experience via their social channels and personal blogs.
