Columbia River Gorge resorts sued for sexual harassment

KTVZ

SEATTLE (AP) – A lawsuit claims the owner of two resorts along the Columbia River Gorge sexually harassed female employees.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Monday the lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Tacoma against Bonneville Hot Springs and Carson Hot Springs Resort and Golf Course in Carson, Washington.

A message to the Carson resort wasn’t immediately returned. The Oregonian reported that Bonneville Hot Springs was sold in 2016.

The suit alleges owner Perfil Cam repeatedly tried to get employees alone and subjected them to lewd sexual comments and propositions, inappropriate touching and groping.

The suit says the resorts failed to stop the harassment.

The commission says the lawsuit seeking monetary damages was filed after efforts to reach a settlement.

A lawsuit involving Bonneville Hot Springs was settled in 2008 on behalf of female employees for $470,000.
