DCSO seeks witnesses, more info in Sisters assault

KTVZ

Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies turned to the public Wednesday as they seek more witnesses and information about an apparent assault in Sisters last month.

Deputies were dispatched April 19 to contact a 24-year-old Sisters man who reported being assaulted the previous night in the 100 block of North Tamarack Street, Sgt. William Bailey said.

Investigating deputies learned there had been a social gathering at a home on Tamarack Street, Bailey said. Some time after 11 p.m., participants in the get-together began to disperse.

A 24-year-old man who lived next door later was found to be injured, with evidence indicating he was assaulted in the driveway of the home where the gathering took place. Bailey said the man suffered significant but non-life-threatening injuries “consistent with being assaulted.”

Deputies have been actively investigating the case since then and interviewing all known witnesses, Bailey said. Investigators are asking any other witnesses or people with information to come forward and speak with a deputy by calling dispatchers at 541-693-6911, in reference to case No. 19-123753.
