EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Eugene police say officers were assaulted when they responded to a report of people fighting in the street.

KVAL-TV reported Monday that 28-year-old Alcario Moreno and 28-year-old Jose Noel Gonzalez were both arrested at the scene.

Officials say three officers reported minor injuries.

Authorities say police went to the scene around 10 p.m. Sunday and saw a woman being assaulted inside. The officers entered the home and were grabbed and punched by people who were fighting among themselves.

Police say Moreno punched an officer in the face after he was knocked to the ground. Gonzalez struggled with officers.

Officers attempted to subdue both men using stun guns before their arrests.

Police say there were about 15 intoxicated and disorderly people at the residence and at least one small child.
