Tigard motorcyclist killed in Wheeler County crash

A Tigard man was killed on state Highway 207 in Wheeler County Thursday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle on a corner and it slid into the path of an oncoming pickup and trailer, Oregon State Police reported.

OSP and other emergency personnel responded around 11:40 a.m. to the crash new milepost 19 on the highway, troopers said.

A preliminary investigation found that Frank Lord Jr., 52, of Tigard, was riding a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle when he lost control on a corner and slid into the path of an oncoming Ford F-350 pickup towing a trailer, driven by Yancey Fall, 51, of Prineville.

Oregon State Police was assisted at the scene by EMS workers from Fossil and Spray, the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office and ODOT.

The crash and investigation closed Highway 207 for about five hours.
