Local Alert Weather, Wed. AM, 8.7.19

KTVZ

Good Wednesday Morning, Everyone…

We are looking ahead to another hot day with a chance of afternoon and evening showers, and a slight chance of thunderstorm activity. Highs will be in the low to mid 90’s and NW winds at 5-10 mph will get a little gusty through the late afternoon. Winds will turn light out of the west tonight as we see some partial clearing. Overnight lows will be in the 50’s.

A low pressure center directly to our west will slowly inch its way in our direction. While this will introduce a cooling trend that stays with us through Saturday, it will also bring mor storms. The chance of thunderstorms will diminish after Thursday night, but the National Weather Service has put a Red Flag Warning, also known as a Fire Weather Warning, in place through 10:00 AM Saturday. The combination of dry fuels, potential lightning and breezy winds creates this hazard.

Rain showers are likely Friday, Saturday and into Saturday night. This will all start to break up Saturday night.Beginning Sunday sunny conditions will return and we are expecting to stay sunny and mild through next week. Daytime highs through the new week will range from the mid 70’s to low 80’s.
