Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!

A FIRE WEATHER or RED FLAG WARNING is in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday for dry fuels, hot temperatures, breezy winds, and chances for lightning. The chance for thunderstorms will mainly be in the afternoons and evenings.

Overnight we’ll see some isolated thunderstorms to our east with partly cloudy skies for the rest of Central Oregon. Temperatures will dip into the mid to upper 50s for lows, which is about 10 degrees above normal. Winds will be blustery at times. Overall, it will be a mild night.

Thursday is off to a mostly sunny to partly cloudy start with warm temperatures. Skies will be mostly sunny until we see some thunderstorms develop in the afternoon and evening. Daytime highs will be in the mid to upper 80s, which is around average, but 10 degrees cooler than we were for today. Winds will be breezy at times in the afternoon gusting 20 miles per hour.

Friday looks to see more active thunderstorm weather to our north with some heavy downpours and gusty winds along with abundant lightning. Central Oregon has a good chance at seeing some storms with rain in the second half of the day. Temperatures will be cooler in the low to mid 80s. Winds will be gusty within the storms.

Saturday will see a chance for thunderstorms and some rain showers. Highs will be the coolest of the extended forecast dipping into the upper 60s and lower 70s. We’ll see temperatures in the mid 70s by Sunday and sunny skies.
