Want to be Principal for (Almost) a Day?

KTVZ

The Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools announced that its 13 th annual Principal for (Almost) A Day event will take place on Friday, Nov. 1.

This annual event provides an opportunity to become an honorary guest principal at one of our local public schools, and to shadow a principal for the morning. Afterwards, the honorary principals join the foundation and Superintendent Shay Mikalson for a roundtable discussion, socializing and a catered luncheon at the school district building downtown.

The Principal for (Almost) a Day event is a proven way for leaders in schools and the business community to share ideas and resources to support students. By shadowing principals, community leaders sample a day in the life of public school principals.

Principal for (Almost) a Day is a meaningful approach for schools to highlight the work they are doing and great way for community members to get a behind the scenes look at the school’s daily operations. The two-way experience is a critical first step towards:

Increasing knowledge of and commitment to public education within the business and civic community; Creating partnerships that can help increase student achievement. Leveraging new resources for schools.
