Katie Zuniga
Meteorologist, NewsChannel 21
My husband and I have been long-time high school sweethearts, and we have two children. I was born in Oregon, but we've lived all over the world. We continue to come back to the Pacific Northwest, as we love all it has to offer, from the coast to the mountains.
In the summer, you will find us kayaking, camping, and gardening. In the winter, we love to hit the slopes, and you will often find me with a latte and a sewing machine or knitting needles in hand.
Before working in journalism, I started and ran a wedding and event planning company for more than 10 years. I became interested in writing and telling stories when I became a regular guest on a morning news show, talking about wedding trends and planning. I then went back to school for broadcast journalism, which led me to KTVZ.
Not long after I started at KTVZ, I trained under Chief Meteorologist Bob Shaw to be a weather anchor fill-in. It didn't take long for me to realize ... I love the weather!!!
In the fall of 2019, I returned to school, in the online program at Mississippi State University. I graduated in 2022 with a BS in Broadcast and Operation Meteorology.
