Bomb-threatened Black schools eligible for security grants

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Kamala Harris says historically Black colleges and universities that were victimized by recent bomb threats are eligible for federal grants to help improve security and mental health on campus. Harris said Wednesday that the threats disrupted learning because classes were canceled and dorms were locked down. The FBI is investigating bomb threats made against at least 36 historically Black colleges and universities in January and February. No devices were found at the schools that were threatened. Harris appeared in public a day after the her husband tested positive for COVID-19. Harris said Tuesday she tested negative.
