Tropical Storm Joyce forms in the Atlantic Ocean and isn’t threatening land
MIAMI (AP) — Forecasters say Tropical Storm Joyce has formed in the Atlantic Ocean and isn’t threatening land. The storm is located about 1,325 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands and has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. It became a tropical storm Friday and was moving northwest at about 13 mph. The Miami-based U.S. National Hurricane Center says there were no coastal watches or warnings in effect. The storm was expected to strengthen gradually through Sunday before weakening early next week.
