Boy Scouts to Collect Christmas Trees in Central Oregon: December 28-29 and January 4-5

KTVZ

BEND, Ore (KTVZ) -- The Boy Scouts of Central Oregon are once again offering a convenient and eco-friendly service to help you dispose of your Christmas tree this holiday season. On December 28th and 29th, as well as January 4th and 5th, the Scouts will be collecting trees across the region, making it easier for residents to recycle their holiday decorations.

How It Works:

According to a Facebook post by Boy Scout Troop 25, based out of Bend -- Simply remove all decorations from your Christmas tree and bring it to the designated drop-off location at your apartment complex or neighborhood. Your apartment manager will provide details on where to leave your tree. From there, the Boy Scouts will take care of the rest—transporting and properly recycling your tree.

Support Scouting in Central Oregon:

While this tree collection is a community service offered by the Scouts, they encourage a $10 donation to help fund scouting programs in Central Oregon. Your donation will go directly toward supporting youth leadership and outdoor activities in our local area.

How to Donate:

To make your donation, you can easily pay online at takeyourtree.com, or simply leave cash or a check with your apartment office. Every contribution helps the Scouts continue their important work in the community.

Mark your calendars for December 28-29 and January 4-5, and make sure to get your tree ready for pickup. It's a simple way to give back to the community while ensuring your tree is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
