Central Oregon remembers beloved La Pine woman who passed away in fatal Friday evening crash on Highway 97

LA PINE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Tonight family and friends are mourning the devastating loss of Rebecka Ann Perrine who lost her life after being struck head on, by an oncoming driver Friday evening while driving home on Highway 97. Perrine was known as a true Central Oregonian - a lover of her family, the outdoors and animals.

Friday evening while driving back from her job as Postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service in Terrebonne, Rebecka Ann Perrine was hit by another driver, head on, after they crossed the centerline for an unknown reason.

Oregon State Police said Perrine passed away at the scene. The driver who hit her was transported to St.Charles Bend, where he remains in critical condition as of Monday evening. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Rebecka's husband, Daniel Perrine, told NewsChannel 21 she was always overflowing with love, wherever life took her.

Before working her way up the ladder at the United States Postal Service, Perrine worked as a foster parent, treating each child as they were her own. At one point she even adopted a special needs child, along with her 2 biological children.

The outdoor lover enjoyed hiking, biking, and making snow angels. At home she enjoyed being by her husband Daniel, and their animals - even adopting a new a puppy just a week ago.

The 43-year-old Perrine passed away at the age of 43.

She is remembered by her husband Daniel, and her two daughters.
