Retired Deschutes County K-9 Brolo remembered for service and loyalty
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of retired K-9 Brolo, who passed away last week after several years of service and a well-earned retirement.

K-9 Brolo joined the sheriff’s office in 2017 and served until his retirement in 2020. According to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Brolo was a highly trained police dog with skills in suspect tracking, handler protection, building and article searches. He played a critical role in numerous arrests and evidence recoveries during his time with the agency.
Following his retirement, Brolo lived with his longtime handler, Detective Keith Slater, and his wife, Deputy Nautique Slater, who is also a K-9 handler with the department.
“Rest easy, K-9 Brolo — you served Deschutes County well,” the agency said.
