BEND, Ore. [KTVZ] -- Do you remember going to summer camp? Is there a lesson that you learned there that stayed with you for the rest of your life?

Mid Oregon Credit Union and KTVZ News have a program giving educators $1000 every month. It's their reward for making a difference one class at a time.

On this perfect summer day, KTVZ News went out to Alpenglow Park in Bend, where we were joined by wildlife rehab group Think Wild

During the summer, the organization puts on a series of day camps for grade schoolers. At these camps, kids get to learn about the wildlife surrounding them as they grow up.

On Monday, for example, kids learned the role of a pollinator in an ecosystem.

Think Wild wants kids to be able to identify pollinators but also be able to explain why pollinators are important and what role they serve within their ecosystem.

KTVZ News joined in, as they learned about some of the wildlife that come to Think Wild, that need help. They discussed how they care for the animals and how to stop other creatures from getting hurt.

Our $1000 gift will actually pay several children to attend one of these wildlife learning sessions for free in Jefferson County.
