4th of July fireworks in Redmond could look different if ban is approved

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Due to the ongoing weather conditions that are prime for vegetation and wildfires, Redmond's City Council will be holding a special meeting on July 1st at 4:00 p.m. to discuss if fireworks should be banned in city limits for the 4th of July holiday.

Redmond Mayor Ed Fitch says he's hesitant to enforce a ban so soon before the holiday, as residents have already bought fireworks. If a decision is passed next week, the ban would go into effect for the holiday weekend.
