DALLAS, Tx (NBC News) -- Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny will headline the Super Bowl 60 halftime show, Apple Music announced during halftime of “Sunday Night Football.”

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was the third-most played artist on Spotify in 2024, according to the music streamer. A global superstar, Bad Bunny has been dubbed the “King of Latin Trap” for his spanish-language raps.

His most recent album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” (I Should Have Taken More Photos), debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 when it released in January. It also debuted at the top of the United States streaming chart.

Earlier this year, Bad Bunny performed 30 shows during a three-month residency in San Juan, helping boost tourism in Puerto Rico during the island’s hurricane season.

Bad Bunny has also branched out of music in recent years.

He wrestled at WWE’s Wrestlemania in 2021, and in 2023 he hosted “Saturday Night Live.” Earlier this year, the rapper and singer also had a supporting role in the film “Caught Stealing.”

Super Bowl 60 will take place on Feb. 8, 2026 in Santa Clara, Calif. at Levi Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers. The game will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock.

The most recent Super Bowl halftime show was headlined by Kendrick Lamar, who was the first rapper to be the solo headliner of the show. Lamar’s performance drew 133.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched halftime show of all time.
