County Courthouse Expansion project reaches milestone with tower crane removal

The Deschutes County Courthouse Expansion project hit a major milestone this month when crews took down the tower crane.

The time-lapse video captures the work. Although it appears to vanish in seconds, crews spent four days using two smaller cranes to carefully dismantle it. The tower crane has been a prominent feature in downtown Bend since the summer of 2024. With its removal, the project is now moving into the next phase to complete the courthouse expansion.
