Dry Canyon Community Art Center to open in Redmond with grand opening celebration

(Update: Video Added)

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) — A new hub for creativity and education is coming to Redmond. The Dry Canyon Community Art Center will celebrate its grand opening next week during the city’s First Friday Art Walk.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 4 p.m. next Friday, marking the official opening of the city’s newest venue for local art and culture.

Beyond serving as a space for artists to display their work, the center aims to invest in the future of art across Central Oregon. In collaboration with the Redmond School District, the facility will support art education programs and opportunities for students.

One major initiative, the “Jump Start Art” program, will raise funds to support visual art education in all Redmond elementary schools. The goal is to ensure every young student has access to hands-on artistic experiences.

The Dry Canyon Arts Association says school-age artists are welcome at all of its events and community members alike are invited to explore and create.
