Sisters Habitat for Humanity opens applications for new 25-home development

SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Sisters Habitat for Humanity is opening applications today for Larch Commons, a new housing development offering 25 homeownership opportunities in Sisters, Ore.

The project introduces the organization's first workforce housing tier alongside permanently affordable homes, offering housing options for local workers as home prices rise in the area.

Larch Commons will offer 19 permanently affordable homes for households earning up to 80% of Area Median Income and six workforce homes for households earning up to 120% of Area Median Income. Located near downtown Sisters, the cottage-style development features one-, two- and three-bedroom homes with one- or two-bathroom floor plans.

The housing project marks the organization's first workforce housing tier aimed at local workers. Executive Director Peter Hoover spoke about the organization's work in the community over its 35-year history.

"For 35 years, we've seen how affordable homeownership can create stability, strengthen families and help people feel that they truly belong,” Hoover said. “Larch Commons allows us to bring that opportunity to more of our neighbors.”
