Two injured in three-vehicle crash on Hwy. 126 in Redmond
REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) – A three-vehicle crash on state Highway 126 East in Redmond Wednesday evening sent two people to the hospital, one with likely serious injuries, officials said.
Redmond police and fire medics were dispatched shortly after 6 p.m. to the crash near milepost two on the highway, Redmond Fire & Rescue Captain Ken Brown said.
They arrived to find that a rear-end crash had occurred with an eastbound car, stopped in the highway, waiting to turn left, that was struck by another small SUV at highway speeds, Brown said.
The small SUV then was struck head-on by a westbound, full-size SUV, he said.
Electric and hydraulic extrication tools were used to free one person trapped in the wreckage.
Oregon State Police, Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies and ODOT also assisted at the scene.
