BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – More than 2,500 Pacific Power customers lost power for hours on Bend’s Westside Sunday afternoon. Repair crews restored service to some of those affected within two hours as they investigated the cause and to the rest by evening.

The utility’s outage map said the first report came just before 2 p.m. and 2,507 customers were affected. The initial restoration estimate was before 5 p.m. The number affected dropped to about 1,300 before 4 p.m. and to just six customers by 6 p.m., who got their power back in the evening.

Pacific Power spokesman Simon Gutierrez said Sunday that the outage "appears to have been caused by an equipment issue. It took our crews some time to isolate the problem and repair."
