Prineville Man Killed in Crash in Clackamas County

A two-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 26 in Clackamas County, Ore., on Jan. 8, 2026, resulting in the death of one driver. The accident involved a westbound Ford Escape and a Ford F-250.

The crash happened at 1:00 p.m. near milepost 35. According to preliminary investigations by the Oregon State Police, Jacob Robert Brugman, 29, of Vancouver, Wash., was driving the Ford Escape when the contact occurred. The Ford F-250, operated by Gary James Beebe, 55, of Prineville, lost control and rolled down an embankment after merging into the Escape.

Beebe was declared deceased at the scene, while Jacob Brugman and his passenger, 27-year-old Kassidy Brugman, were reported uninjured following the collision. The impact of the crash did not hinder traffic on Highway 26 after the incident.

The Oregon State Police responded to the scene with assistance from the Hoodland Fire Department and Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) personnel, ensuring that the situation was managed without impacting the roadway.

The investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash is ongoing, as authorities continue to gather evidence and assess the events that resulted in this tragic accident.
