Man fatally shot on a Denver bus after approaching teen, getting into argument, police say

DENVER (AP) — Police say a 13-year-old accused of fatally shooting a man on a Denver bus opened fire in the middle of an argument after the man approached the teen and his friends at the back of the bus. Police had previously said last month’s shooting happened after a “verbal exchange” between the teen and 60-year-old Richard Sanchez over Sanchez’s leg blocking the aisle. In an arrest affidavit released Thursday, they say Sanchez first exchanged words with the teen and two other juveniles when they boarded the bus. The document says Sanchez then walked to the back of the bus and the teen pulled out a handgun in the middle of verbal altercation.
