A man tried to open an emergency exit on an American Airlines flight. Other passengers subdued him

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say an American Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing at a New Mexico airport after a disruptive passenger caused a disturbance in the cabin. Other passengers said he tried to open an emergency exit door and was screaming “I want to get out.” Airport officials say Flight 1219 to Chicago had to return to Albuquerque International Sunport shortly after takeoff Tuesday afternoon. Passengers told KOAT that six other men on the plane wrestled the man down and restrained him in the aisle by duct-taping his feet and putting on flex cuffs until the flight ended and he was escorted off the plane by law enforcement.
