John Oates’ new album is called ‘Reunion.’ But don’t think Hall & Oates are getting back together

NEW YORK (AP) — For music fans, John Oates is most recognizable as one-half of the Grammy-nominated Hall & Oates, the multi-platinum soul-pop duo behind hits like ″Private Eyes” and “Maneater.” But he’s also had a full career as a soloist, and will release his sixth solo album, “Reunion,” on May 17. Just don’t consider the title a thinly veiled attempt at getting the band back together — what he recognizes as “a true irony,” as he told the Associated Press from Nashville. He said that because he is “moving on from my Hall & Oates experience,” he is “reuniting” with himself. The album is his “most personal” to date and features a John Prine cover.
