Teen and Miss USA quit their crowns, citing mental health and personal values

The winners of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA resigned from their titles within days of each other. Their decisions this week shine a spotlight on the Miss Universe Organization, which runs both pageants. Noelia Voigt cited mental health in giving up her Miss USA crown. Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava said her personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organization. The resignations mark the first time in 72 years that the pageant group has gone without titleholders for the positions. The resignations have drawn calls for more transparency into Miss USA and its parent organization. Both have faced controversy in the past.
