City of Bend launches public survey on Community Climate Action Plan

City of Bend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The City of Bend is inviting community members to participate in a survey to provide input on the update of its Community Climate Action Plan.

Originally adopted in 2019, the Community Climate Action Plan outlines the city’s goals and roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030 and by 70% by 2050. The city is currently updating the plan to identify new actions for emissions reductions that align with best practices.

Community input is crucial in determining which strategies to prioritize and understanding the biggest barriers to emissions reduction efforts in Bend. This is a valuable opportunity for residents to voice their priorities on climate action.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and will be open until Sunday, Dec. 1. All responses are anonymous.

The Community Climate Action Plan will be presented to and considered by the Bend City Council in early 2025.

The survey can be found here. To learn more about the Community Climate Action Plan and find opportunities to get involved, please visit Bend’s Community Climate Action Plan page.
