Indian restaurant, The Crown Curry, set to take the place of closed Nome Italiano on Bend’s Westside

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – KTVZ News told you recently about the sudden closure of Nome Italiano, on Bend’s Westside. Friday came word that an Indian cuisine restaurant will be taking its place this spring.

Authentic Indian Restaurant Moving into Former Nome Location
Bend is gearing up to welcome a new Indian restaurant to its culinary scene, The Crown Curry. The restaurant is set to open in the former Nome Italiano space on SW Knoll Avenue and plans to open the doors to the public in late April or early May.
The Crown Curry is the latest venture by restaurateur Bhavna Pardeshi, who already operates two successful Indian restaurants in Washington: Walla Walla Indian Cuisine in Walla Walla and Maharaja Taste of India in Kennewick. Both establishments have built a strong reputation, amassing over 3,000 combined reviews and maintaining an impressive 4.7+ star rating on Google.
“We are so excited to bring our food to Bend,” Pardeshi shared. “We have many guests at our Walla Walla restaurant who visit from Central Oregon, and I was blown away with the beauty of Bend when I first visited. We knew this was the perfect place for our next restaurant.”
The new restaurant will reflect the successful model of Pardeshi’s other locations, offering a lunch buffet, full dinner service, and a full bar. The lunch buffet will feature high-end Indian cuisine with grab-and-go options, perfect for those who are looking for a quick yet high-quality meal during their busy day. Dinner service will provide a more relaxed dining experience, showcasing a range of classic and contemporary Indian dishes, all crafted by chefs who have been professionally trained in India.
While The Crown Curry will share many elements with Pardeshi’s existing restaurants, she also plans to introduce unique features tailored to the Bend community. “Most of our popular dishes will stay the same, but we will be making some menu adjustments to best cater to local tastes,” Pardeshi explained. “Our bar menu will be different as well—we plan to introduce more cocktails and fun drinks to complement our flavorful dishes. One thing that will remain unchanged is our dedication to providing delicious, authentic Indian food and exceptional service.”
