BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Bend police asked the public for help Sunday in finding a suspect in an early-morning stabbing at a northeast Bend motel that left an 18-year-old seriously wounded.

Officers were dispatched around 12:40 a.m. to reported stabbing at the Days Inn by Wyndham on Northeast Third Street., Lt. Bob Jones said.

Officers learned the victim had been stabbed in the chest and sustained a life-threatening injury, Jones said. Bend Fire medics took the victim to St. Charles Bend.

Investigators learned the victim was involved in a fight with a man he knew, identified as Jonathan Lee Roberson, 28, of Bend, Jones said.

The officer said Roberson left the scene in a black 2006 Toyota Camry before officers arrived.  The four-door car has Oregon license plates 011 ESS, Jones said.

Police released a photo of a similar make, model and color car and asked anyone with information about Roberson’s whereabouts or that could help the investigation to call Deschutes County dispatch at 541-693-6911 or 911. They also warned the public not to approach or contact Roberson.
