High Desert on ice: Freezing rain, slick roads lead to more school, other closures, delays; Redmond Airport reopens
(Update: More notices; Sunriver weekend concert postponed a week; BPRD facilities close early, not Pavilion)
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Thursday’s freezing rain and Friday's still-icy streets around the region led to numerous school closures Friday, including Bend-La Pine, Redmond, Jefferson County, Culver and Crook County, as well as COCC and OSU-Cascades. But the situation at Redmond Airport relented and flights resumed, while other cancellations and postponements have been coming in.
Redmond Airport reopened Friday morning around 9 a.m., after a lengthy closure from mid-afternoon Thursday due to freezing rain and ice on the runways. Airport officials confirmed over a dozen flights were canceled or delayed and urged travelers to check with their airlines for updated flight information.

Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson County Circuit Court
State offices (Hybrid and remote workers will work regular hours.)
Crook County offices opening two hours late
The Redmond Senior Center is closed today due to severe weather conditions.
Please use your emergency meals or the extra frozen meal we sent out on Wednesday.
Madras Senior Center will be closed today! No Meals on Wheels and no congregate meals being served.
BPRD reduces recreation facilities hours due to prolonged weather
Bend Park and Recreation District is closing Juniper Swim & Fitness Center and Larkspur Community Center at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19 due to inclement weather.
The Pavilion will remain open regular hours for a scheduled collegiate hockey game occurring at the facility this evening.
All three recreation centers will have delayed opening on Saturday, Jan. 20 and plan to open at 8:30 a.m., weather permitting. Due to the delayed openings, Bend Swim Club and Bend Ice activities scheduled earlier than 8:30 a.m. are canceled for this Saturday.

All Mid Oregon Credit Union offices opened at 10 a.m.
The Sunriver Music Festival's free concert scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Sunriver Christian Fellowship has been postponed to January 27th; other details remain the same.
The OSU Master Gardeners' "Growing Vegetables in Central Oregon" class in Sisters, that was to take place on Saturday, Jan. 20 has been rescheduled to Saturday, Feb. 24 due to hazardous road conditions this week. The class will be held at Sisters Community Church from 10AM to noon on the new date.
