Sisters extends emergency declaration, discourages tourist travel, lodging
SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Sisters City Manager Cory Misley has extended the city's emergency declaration until May 13. This order applies to all areas within the city’s incorporated limits.
The City Council will discuss a second extension of the emergency declaration at their Wednesday, May 13th meeting.

Discouraging Tourist Travel and Related Activities to Sisters Except for
Permitted Essential Travel
To reduce exposure to and the spread of COVID-19, the city strongly encourages individuals to remain at their place of permanent residence, and not to travel to Sisters except as absolutely necessary for health, safety, and/or employment purposes, and consistent with the executive orders of Governor Brown (and guidance from OHA), including, the Stay Home, Save Lives Order (Executive Order No. 20-12) travel away from home for vacation purposes is strongly discouraged and should be avoided.
All transient stays in city at hotels, motels, inns, bed and breakfasts, RV parks, short-term rentals, and all other temporary lodging options that have not commenced as of the effective date of this order are strongly discouraged.
Owners and operators of temporary lodging facilities in the city (e.g., hotels, motels, and short-term rentals) are strongly urged to refrain from accepting any new reservations for tourist accommodations.
This order is effective immediately and will remain in effect until May 13, 2020.
