Bend Police seek public help in identifying Abby’s Pizza robbery suspect

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Bend Police are searching for a man who robbed an Abby's of 86 cents at gunpoint Wednesday night. The incident occurred at Abby's Legendary Pizza on NE Third Street around 9pm on April 1st.

Officers responded to the restaurant at 1115 NE Third Street for a report of an armed robbery. The suspect is being investigated on potential charges of first-degree attempted robbery, coercion and unlawful use of a weapon.

The suspect reportedly entered the business and spent time in the Oregon Lottery game room before the encounter. When an employee informed the man that the pizzeria was closing, he approached the counter to cash out a lottery ticket worth 86 cents.

After reaching the counter, the man produced a black handgun and pointed it at the employee. The employee provided the suspect with the 86 cents and told him she would not give him any more money. The man then left the building and fled the area.

The suspect was seen leaving on a black BMX bicycle equipped with a rear brake. He was last seen cycling westbound toward NE Second Street.

Bend Police described the suspect as a white or Hispanic man, likely in his 20s or 30s, who is approximately five feet eight inches tall. During the incident, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball cap, light gray jeans and black latex work gloves.
