Small slide prompts single-lane restriction on Mill Creek Road; Crook County officials urge driver caution

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) – A small roadside slide along Mill Creek Road has led to a temporary restriction to one lane in the area, Crook County officials said Friday.
The slide occurred on Monday, March 10 near milepost 8, just north of the Steins Pillar parking area, officials said.
The Crook County Road Department has implemented the temporary lane restriction to ensure public safety.
“The affected section remains open to traffic in both directions, but travelers are urged to proceed with caution through the clearly marked and coned-off area.
County officials said they are actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
“At this time, no full closure is anticipated, but safety remains the county’s top priority,” the announcement said.
“Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay alert, reduce speeds when traveling through the area and be prepared for minor delays,” the county said.
