Applicants sought for Project Wildfire, noxious weed panels

Deschutes County is seeking applicants to fill openings on the Project Wildfire Steering Committee and Noxious Weed Advisory Board. Applications are due by Friday, Dec. 6.

The Project Wildfire Steering Committee coordinates, develops and implements strategies to mitigate the effects of losses due to natural disasters that strike Deschutes County.

Meetings are held at 8 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Deschutes Services Building in downtown Bend. For more information, or to apply, visit http://bit.ly/ProjectWildfire2019.

The Noxious Weed Board is an advisory committee to the Board of County Commissioners that:

  • Identifies and prioritizes issues to be addressed by the County’s noxious weed program,
  • Supports and advises the County Commission and County staff on noxious weeds, and
  • Develops and assists with a noxious weed outreach and education program.
