Sisemore Road bridge rehab project begins next week
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Work will begin Monday on the Sisemore Road bridge rehabilitation project, near Tumalo Reservoir. The project will include concrete repair, drainage improvements, strengthening and other rehabilitation work on the historic Bull Springs bridge, which was originally constructed in 1914.
Deschutes County officials said the project will continue the service life of the structure while maintaining and restoring the structure’s historic nature and appearance.
The bridge is located on Sisemore Road, near the intersection with Tumalo Reservoir Road, crossing the outflow of Tumalo Reservoir. The $499,000 project will be constructed by the county’s contractor, Marcum & Sons LLC.
Beginning Tuesday, Sisemore Road at the bridge will be closed to allow for construction of the project; the road closure will be in effect for the duration of the project. The project is anticipated to be completed by Sept. 18.
Road users should utilize the marked detour route via Collins Road and Couch Market Road to avoid the project area. Please visit deschutes.org/news or TripCheck.com for current project traffic information.
