League of Women Voters of Deschutes County invites HS seniors to enter Y-Essay contest

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The League of Women Voters of Deschutes County is excited to announce its second annual Y-Essay (Y = Yes-Youth-Why) contest.

The ' Y-Essay' contest is now open for essay submissions by senior high school students in Deschutes County. The League believes these students are the best advocates to increase the youth vote.

We are welcoming high school senior students to write an essay on the topic, ‘Why Vote?’ Essays will be judged and winners will receive $500. Interested high school senior students can visit bit.ly/Y-Essay for timing, instructions and essay requirements.

Donations to LWVDC Y-Essay Awards fund are most welcomed and may be made at bit.ly/Y-Essay-Contribution. The Y-Essay Awards Fund is a dedicated fund for awarding winning essayists.
