REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Deschutes County Public Health Immunization Program is excited to announce the expansion of its immunization services at the new North County Campus beginning Wednesday. The campus is located at 236 NW Kingwood Avenue in Redmond.

As a Vaccine Access Program provider, County Health Services offer Safety Net Immunizations to individuals and families who have difficulty accessing quality immunization services. Immunization clinics are available to those from newborn to adult (children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult or guardian).

“Expanding immunization services in Redmond has been a long-standing goal of ours,” said Sarah Van Meter, Immunization Coordinator for Deschutes County Health Services.

“Along with the Redmond community health care providers, local pharmacies, and the Student-Based Health Centers at M.A. Lynch Elementary and Redmond High School, the clinics at the North County Campus will provide another opportunity for residents to get vaccinations close to home.”

Immunizations are an excellent way to protect newborns, children, adolescents, and adults against many serious diseases.  In the early days of life, children need vaccines to help protect them from diseases that can be very serious, even deadly, which is why getting started with and maintaining a childhood immunization schedule is vital. Please reference the CDC’s 2024 Recommended Immunizations for Birth through 6 Years Old chart for more information.

Remember that once children reach their pre-teen/teen years there are still vaccines that can keep them on course for maintaining disease protection. Please reference the CDC’s 2024 Recommended Immunizations for Children 7 – 18 Years Old chart for more information.

Because immunity from some childhood vaccines can wane over time, and risk for diseases changes with age, it is important to talk to your healthcare provider about which vaccines are right for you or refer to adult immunization recommendations.  Please reference the CDC’s 2024 Recommended Adult Immunization Schedule for ages 19 years and older chart for more information.

As a reminder, immunization services are also available in our Bend campus located at 2577 NE Courtney Drive.
