SALEM, Ore. (KTVZ)-- Oregon Congresswoman Janelle Bynum introduced her first bill today. Bynum represents Oregon's 5th district, which includes the western half of Deschutes County. Her first bill would require the Federal Reserve to study the impact of tariffs on the cost of living. The report would include all tariffs since 2017 and be presented to Congress.

Congresswoman Bynum told KTVZ news "There could be disagreement on whether a tariff on fish is actually impacting prices versus a tariff on flowers and so it's really important for us to get the facts so that we can take action very quickly."

Bynum has named this bill the Protecting Families from Inflation Act. The bill does not specify any action to be taken as a result of the Federal Reserve study.
