Oregon Congressman Cliff Bentz hosts telephone town hall
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Tonight Republican Representative Cliff Bentz held his first town hall since announcing last week that he will no longer be doing anymore in person town halls.
The tele town hall tonight was informative for voters, as Representative Bentz took questions on topics ranging from the "big beautiful bill" to "home owner insurance".
One of the most interesting tidbits happened during a question on the potential oregon redistricting that would change Representative Bentz's seat.Â
Rep. Bentz said "Oregon is about as gerrymandered as it can possibly be already. If you look at a map, you'll see that my district, CD2 takes up almost three quarters of the state. And, I think the concept perhaps was to round up most of the republicans and put them in my district. If you look at the other five districts, you'll see that four of those five districts, lie in the Portland."
The meeting lasted just about an hour, where he fielded about ten questions, including one about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Representative Bentz was asked by a constituent about Representative Thomas Massey's and Representative Ro Khanaa's discharge petition. Here's what the congressman had to say about that.
Rep. Bentz said during the town hall"Let me let me first say that a monster like Epstein should never have been allowed to do what he did, however, and nor those folks who joined him in, in, in his, horrible activities."
Furthermore, the Congressman also said he feels the discharge petition does not have the reach that Representative James Comer's investigation has.
Congressman Bentz will host another telephone town hall on Wednesday, September 17th.
