ODOT Accountability: New audit committee aims to ensure fixes for longstanding problems

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Oregon Transportation Commission has approved a new Audit Accountability Committee, aimed at making sure problems flagged in audits don't go unresolved. The move is designed to strengthen oversight and transparency at the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).

The committee will review audit findings, evaluate agency responses, and track whether corrective actions are actually carried out -- its creation comes after years of ODOT failing to make numerous corrections found in audits and being out of compliance with federal regulations.
