Klamath County traffic stop turns up $236K in bags; S. Dakota man arrested
KENO, Ore. (KTVZ) -- An Oregon State Police traffic stop of a minivan in Klamath County on Monday led to the discovery of more than $236,000 in cash in vacuum-sealed bags and the arrest of a South Dakota man on drug possession and money-laundering charges.
An OSP sergeant stopped a 2019 Dodge Caravan for several traffic violations on state Highway 66 near milepost 51, near Keno, troopers said.
"The sergeant observed signs of criminal activity," troopers said, and a search of the vehicle was conducted, finding $236,090 in vacuum-sealed bags.
The driver, Drew Miller, 27, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was arrested and booked into the Klamath County Jail on charges of laundering a monetary instrument, engaging in financial transactions in property derived from unlawful activity, drug possession, tempering with evidence and conspiracy.
OSP said it was assisted by U.S. Department of Homeland Security investigators.
