An inmate at Two Rivers Correctional Institution has passed away

UMATILLA, Ore (KTVZ) — Another inmate has died while in police custody, and serving a life-sentence.

Billy Raymond Bostic, was in custody at the Oregon Department of Corrections, when he died on Friday evening.

Bostic was incarcerated at Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla, and passed away in the facility infirmary, while on comfort care.

No further details have been released. 

Bostic entered ODC custody on January 14, 1998, from Marion County, and was serving a life sentence.

Bostic was 74 years old. 

ODC said they take all in-custody deaths seriously, and are investigating this latest death.

The agency says, they are responsible for the care and custody of 12,000 individuals who are incarcerated in 12 institutions across the state.

Two Rivers Correctional Institution, which opened in 2000, houses around 1,800 adults.
