REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Shepherd's House Ministries, a nonprofit organization committed to providing shelter services, long-term recovery programs and comprehensive support for those experiencing homelessness, announced Monday the expansion of its Redmond Center to offer daytime services.

This move to daytime services addresses the critical need for a permanent shelter that operates 365 days a year, providing a lifeline for individuals grappling with homelessness, addiction, hunger, mental illness, and poverty in Redmond.

The Redmond Center will also be continually and instantly available as a sanctuary during weather or wildfire emergencies.

Before the opening of Shepherd's House Redmond Center in November, the community needed a consistent, year-round shelter with on-site case management, wrap-around services, meals, showers, mobile outreach, day services and job readiness programs. Individuals were limited to accessing the annual overnight winter shelter for only four months per year and were forced back onto the streets during the day.

The expanded Shepherd's House Redmond Center addresses these critical gaps by offering:

Shelter Services: Open 365/24/7, nightly showers, laundry, clothing access, providing a safe space and three meals daily for needy individuals.

On-Site Case Management: Offering personalized support to address individual challenges and facilitate access to necessary services.

Comprehensive Wrap-Around Services: A collaborative effort with over a dozen service providers offering mental and medical health care, job readiness and training, and more, all in one centralized location.

Mobile Outreach: Extending support through mobile case management, showers, food, clothing, and gear for those struggling with poverty and homelessness.

Expanding day services is a significant step forward, enabling Shepherd's House Ministries to open new doors for volunteer opportunities within the Redmond community.

“Our guests will now have a safe place to be all the time. We hope Shepherd’s House Redmond will also become a community where people will have their basic needs met and their hopes for the future realized.” --John Lodise, Director of Low Barrier Services
