Downtown Redmond reports record 95% occupancy, seven new businesses opened in 2024
REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ( –The Redmond Urban Renewal Agency is pleased to announce seven new businesses in the retail/restaurant/service sectors have opened downtown since the beginning of 2024.
In the four years of tracking downtown Redmond’s business occupancy rate, 2024 established a new record of 95% of storefronts occupied, up four points over last year.
“We are very excited to see our small businesses thriving in downtown Redmond. It’s great the community has more shopping and dining choices than ever before,” said Downtown Urban Renewal Advisory Committee Chair Monica Huey.
Some of the new businesses opened downtown this year include:
Food & Drink: A New Tropical (122 SW 5th Street) Thai/Asian fusion; Ferm & Fare (218 SW 4th Street) chef’s table restaurant; Pangaea Guild Hall (652 SW 6th Street) coffee, cocktails and games
Décor, Furnishings, & Gifts: Swan Song Vintage (627 SW Deschutes Avenue) vintage clothing and accessories; Cognitive Surplus (436 SW 6th Street) science inspired stationery and gifts
Entertainment & Activities: Evergreen Ave Collaborative (614 SW Evergreen Avenue) co-working space; High Desert Cigars (520 SW Evergreen Avenue) cigar shop
The Redmond Urban Renewal Agency works to attract businesses and downtown investment as prescribed in the Downtown Urban Renewal Plan. Grant and loan incentives are available to support new and existing businesses to help make projects a reality. In 2024, over $200,000 in resources from Urban Renewal were invested in partnership with 17 small businesses, leveraging over $3.8 million of new private investment downtown.
